I wouldn't be at all surpirsed if they did. I know from befriending a couple of the conductors on the commuter train I used to take before moving to the frontier that rail conductors are required to carry both state and federal regulations in their gear bag on every trip and they get fined if they fail to produce them on a spot inspection.

I can't deal now... I've got to go home and fuck the tar out of the old lady...

Knowing she'll preemptively hate them, I strongly vote for Fountains of Wayne. Totally aside from the "Fast Times" thing of "Stacy's Mom", they've got amusing lyrics and great, addictive songs.

Fuck I have become mainstream in my old age. Can someone recommend a southren fried rock blues type band that I might love? Or someone a little bit country and a little bit rock n roll a la Sheryl Crow? I need new music.
I told you - try My Morning Jacket. pick any one of their records.

Try the Allmans live from the Atlanta music festival 1970. Crazy jams.

The Eagles of Death Metal's "Peace Love Death metal" is a great straight rock record with some really funny lyrics. The name is obviously a joke - its nothing at all like death metal. Its kind of Strokes-ish/Stripes-ish, but not pompous. Best cover of Stuck in the Middle I've heard yet. Great party album.

JAYHAWKS. These guys have been doing the best country alt rock for years, and its all produced by Rick Rubin, so the sound layering is killer. They're 8X better than the old Wilco shit that everybody who doesn't know any better coos about.

You know what's a pretty fun record? Jet's "Get Born". Its just good straightforward rock with a few surprinsgly good ballads and one really cool tune which sort of robs the melody from Dear Prudence. Worth checking out. That current piece of crap tune "Cold Hard Bitch" that they're playing on the radio is not indicative of the record on the whole.

edited to fix quote. good Lord, people, we've been using the quote function for a year now, can't you leave the first bracket in there?--burger)

Thanks, that cures randiness better than imagining having sex with one of the Three Stooges.

Have you no soul at all?

For the love of God, man, please, make this thread stop.

Next up, we'll analyze which blade cuts celery the best...

Strays is worth getting. Its not as good as their early work, but nothing ever will be. The tunes are shorter and very hooky, but nevertheless pretty damn good. Great driving disc. Do not expect the mind blowing 10 min opus (3 Days, Ted, Just Admit it) you got in the middle of the previous discs. Nothing on Strays goes over 5 1/2 minutes. On the whole, you'll be satisfied, and its a great disc to put in if you're having people over for some drinking or whatever.

Too hyper a record to fuck to, unless you're all sped up out of your tree.

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

Where's the debate? 8" chef's knife, well sharpened, for chopping. 4" parer for a lengthwise cut, which is the one that matters for mixing up a bloody mary. Which, I have to observe, is often mixed around here with a detestable amount of Old Bay. Please, folks, Old Bay goes great on crabs, but let's keep the bloodies pure.

Trailer Park BJ Queen, please. Or were you supposed to be the Muffy Connecticut country-club blueblood?

Either way--toothless or sexless--unappealing.

BTW, if you don't own Kettle Whistle yet, buy it. The live 3 Days is great and 80% of the new tunes are great. The drumming on the silly tune about Farrell's cat (My Cat's Name is Maceo) is amazing.

Whatever pet I get next - dog or cat - will be named Maceo. Maybe that's what I'll name my first kid.

Who am I kidding? My sperm is probably useless/defective at this point.
