Lolita
Ingredients:
20 ml Tequila
10 ml Lime juice
1 tsp Honey
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Ice
Mixing instructions:
Shake and strain into a cocktail glass and add one or two ice cubes
Not really a girl drink-
So Fringe- say you were going to start your own donut store what would you offer. Not what do you wish Krispy Kreme would start offering, I mean "Clean Slate" which types?
Me-
1 Chocolate Frosted White Creme filled (Angel Creme ala Tim's) I don't think I could call it an angel creme but otherwise a straight knock-off
2 Buttermilk fried
3 Chocolate cake batter fried
4 Blueberry batter fried
5 Crueller
6 Lemon Custard filled
Those would be there all the time. others would rotate through. I really think the existing stores devote too much shelve space to the jelly filled- raspberry, lemon, cherry, etc.
Who wants all that?

Why would I ever consider starting a donut shop when I've already got Voodoo Doughnut?

Why is that not a girl drink?
I like glazed, anything involving chocolate (but no coconut involved), apple fritters, and raspberry jelly-filled. I would never set up a donut store, though, because I'm too self-centered and would only want to stock things I like and so I'd go broke b/c of a lack of selection. And I'd eat all the stockboys. I mean stock.

AI Girls
So much for high hopes. As a group, they were even more mediocre than the boys. Eight of the twelve were just "meh." Lots of bad song choices, lots of pitchy spots, not much energy, nothing distinctive or special. I voted for three:
Carrie Underwood, the blond farm girl from Oklahoma. She picked a song I wasn't familiar with and still had me riveted. Nice dynamic range to her voice, more than I can say for some currently quite-successful country stars.
Nadia Turner, the striking black woman with the amazing afro who benefited from the raised age limit this year. Again, she picked a song I didn't know, but I was glued.
Aloha Mischeaux, the black (part-Hawaiian?) woman with the low hairline. She performs with great energy, confidence and style. They are right that she needs to not be too much like Beyonce, and emphasize those aspects of her persona that are unique.
Of the others, Mikalah Gordon (the teenager with the Yiddishisms) has a distinctive voice, but Simon is right that she's right on the border between charmingly quirky and annoying. Janay Castine (black teenager), Vonzell Solomon (Florida mail carrier) and Melinda Lira (undetermined ethnicity, sturdy stature) might do okay with better song selections and increased confidence. The rest totally bore me.

I bought one of these this weekend and I have a few gay men in the wings who think it'd be sort of cool to be a favorite uncle to a Tejanito/a. Can I play?

Good Kitty
So, a Time Magazine survey of things that make people happy finds 38% of women are made happy by playing with a pet, but only about 17% by sex.

I would add apple fritters too-
If it has tequilla it isn't really a girl drink. So I'd say a lolita isn't a girl drink. It might be too sweet for me to want to drink, but a frat guy could order one and not get made fun of.

Dissent. Fruity margs (anything but lime) are way girly.

But when it's hot outside? You have to worry about sweat, and everything sort of sticks . . . wait, wrong thread. Sorry.

You're right.
Are tropical drinks okay in a tropical setting? Once on a cruise I had Mai Tais and even a planter's punch. Am I gay?
