When you bitch about Slave's pronouncement, you know who you're talking to and it adds to whatever good or ill will you associate with him as Slave the poster. With some login that's rarely used, you don't really get a sense of who is behind the avatar. It's just a pronouncement from on high. Also, one of us, generally, is around, so you can flag us down with problems, like the PM thing, paigow's avatar issue, etc. We as admins have relative strengths and weaknesses, and ya'll have a general idea of what they are. MR with the tech stuff. Slave is amazing at getting people together and moving forward.
There's also the pain in the ass factor of remembering the admin logon password, etc, which doesn't impact you at all, but is, er, a pain in the ass for the four of us.
Anyhow, I'd like to think of myself as an approachable admin who is flexible, and this is a "this is sort of how I see it" post instead of a "this is what we're going to do" post. The line between admin and regular poster gets fuzzy in these types of posts.
ETA: Plus everything that MR said, much more logically and less touchy feely.

You are approachable and friendly and reasonable and non-whiny, whether you are posting as you or posting admin announcements. It is always a pleasure reading your posts.

I don't understand the appeal of this. What makes you want to fool people into thinking you're penske? How desperate for attention are you? Does your primary get routinely ignored? Are you pj?

paying for drinks

I'm going to be going out with my friend shortly (ex-bf, but that is really neither here nor there). Whenever we go out, he always insists on paying for my drinks. I always protest but I hate making a lot of fuss so I don't protest vehemently. I always feel bad because he is a teacher and I make hundreds of thousands more than he does - although I would never say such a thing.
My question is, should I be protesting more vehemently? I don't want to insult him - at the same time I don't want to be a cheapskate.
And, because you all want to know, no, our evenings out do not end in torrid encounters. Far from it. Sorry to be so boring.
|
The reason he's paying is because he still wants to sleep with you.

all names were redacted from the postings (both here and at Infirm). Infirm/West just has a vested interest in protecting the law firms that it is in bed with. We don't.

We should be in bed with someone at least. You should work on that.
And why is there relatively no salary info here? Chickens?
And no talk of new summers? No new hot summers out there? School's out right?

We had 105 invididual people looking at the board at 3:25 today. Maybe some of them will stick around and start gossping about their firms.

Have some respect! Its National PJ Day.
Both of you tools wish you were The PJ. She rocks our world and I, for one, am quite thankful to be so rocked.
Rock on PJ, you are the Paigow of your generation.

Wow, that's a record right? I'd say that ncs has earned her toaster.
Standing room only. And let me just say that even though there may be "no gossip" rules out there, gossip is GOOD. That's a hint to all you non-socks trolling. Jump in. The water's warm.

That's nothing. I'm storing her doggie treats in my apartment for free! What good has is done for me here? Absolutely none. I'm starting to think RT is incorruptible. I will have to work a different angle.

What? Someone at lawtalkers is supposed to be in bed with Not Bob & Associates LLP?
Someone has a lot of 'splainin to do....I mean, what ever happened to the concept of droit du seigneur around here?

Perhaps you could get the city to hurry up and get my street repaved? That way it's easier to get to my house and corrupt me. And, of course, deliver the pooches' treats.
