I sure as hell ain't about to live in yours, you nincompoop.
Enrique
'a worldwide superstar
In 1999, his song "Bailamos" became the most requested radio track in Los Angeles and New York, and was featured on the sountrack for Wild Wild West. The song later went to #1 on Billboard and Enrique was a superstar. His first English album, Enrique, went double platinum in the US and quadruple platinum worldwide.'
'At the dawn of the new millennium, Enrique Iglesias was the best-selling Latin recording artist in the world.
That first album, Enrique Iglesias (1996), sold more than a million copies in three months (it earned him his first gold record in Portugal in a mere seven days) and to date has sold more than six million worldwide. The second album, Vivir (1997), enjoyed global sales of more than five million discs and launched his first world tour, backed by sidemen for Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, and Billy Joel. In a mere three years, Iglesias had sold more than 17 million Spanish-language albums, more than anyone else during that period. (The U.S. was his biggest market.) He also won the 1996 Grammy for Best Latin Performer, 1996's Billboard Artist of the Year, Billboard's Album of the Year for Vivir, two American Music Awards, a World Music Award, eight Premio Lo Nuestro Awards, two ACE Performer of the Year Awards, and ASCAP prizes for Best Composer of 1996 and 1997, in addition to countless accolades around the world.'
Marc Anthony
'Marc Anthony was a salsa superstar throughout the '90s, long before the Latin pop explosion of the 1999.
Marc has the highest record sales in Salsa history. He was also on the top ten list of influential New Yorkers written by New York Magazine. All in all he has been distinguished with twelve Latin gold and platinum awards by the RIAA. His greatest hits album, Desde El Principio: From the Beginning, released in 1998 held the number one slot on the Latin Billboard for seven weeks and was also the number one album of the year in 2000. In 2001, Libre went double platinum and held the number one slot on the charts for fourteen weeks in a row.'
Now shut the fuck up.

He's very pretty and I like to look at him, regardless -- it's too bad he's not still on the West Wing.

Speaking of the West Wing, I've been seeing previews for this week's show where they are hyping that it is the "most exciting season ever" and then the majority of the preview is about how "there is a giant asteroid heading for earth." Jesus Christ.
Has this show officially run out of story ideas?

I really don't think this is a spoiler. Anyway, my paddle is broken so I watched this last night. I thought Less was at least exaggerating when he referred to her as the abused wife. Holy shit. I know this race thing is stressful, but he is over the top. At one point, she is sobbing in the back seat, wailing about why can't he ever help her with anything, ever, ever -- while he is growling in the front seat about how he is really going to take it out on her if things do not go well. At the end, he was so pissed that he smacked her so hard on the arm that it knocked the clue or whatever it is right out of her hand. Predictions: 1) She is going to show up for one of these episodes with a black eye after "walking into a door." 2) There is going to be some sort of domestic violence prevention intervention for these two.

I am rarely disturbed while watching t.v. (I have work for that) but it greatly disturbs me that the casting people at CBS chose them to participate in TAR. Maybe this is just sour grapes (Less and I would have been so much more entertaining and if he pushed me, he'd be finishing the race in a wheelchair) but there's no way that the casting people didn't know that this was an abusive relationship given the extensive amounts of psychological testing and interviews that they put these people through. They just thought it would be good t.v. to put these assjacks on the show and now they're going to act like they are trying to "help" the couple (with Phil telling Jonathan to go talk to his wife) when it's their fault that the couple was put into such a stressful situation (which cleary is exacerbating Jonathan's violent tendencies) in the first place.
And they should have picked me and Less, dammit.

I believe Malcolm X very publicly split with the Nation prior to his assassination. In fact, I seem to recall him writing some pretty solid shit about why he believed the Nation was misguided.

Well, there's something to be said for actually being able to connect when nepotism takes you to the plate. Iglesias is no Michael Powell.
