I don't hate New Orleans. I hate the idea of spending vast sums of money to rebuild a city on ground much of which is below sea level. Just because we have the potential engineering solutions doesn't mean we should implement them.

And, to prove I'm fair, I think it was a sucky idea to build the nation's capital in a swamp.

She started in on me about not getting a summer internship my old man wanted me to get... I gave the phone to some guy who was waltzing with a six foot inflatable tube of Crest toothpaste to a great cover of "Mustang Sally" in the fraternity parking lot.

The internship would probably have moved me into a career far away from law. I never followed up. I want to sue Jim Beam, Miller, Budweiser, Absolut, Seagrams, Graffix, Zippo, the Grateful Dead, the Allman Brothers, the Rolling Stones, the Greek System, Delta Delta Delta, Old Crow, the Estate of Jerry Garcia and the administrators who allowed me to major in English and take classes on Cricket and Famous Carribean Olympians for pain and suffering attendant to my dumbass default decision to practice law.

I also want to sue women generally. They have repeatedly taken advantage of me, directing my attentions from other worthwhile endeavors. I will not even get into the various fraud counts involved. Ever consider what you’d be if you’d spent the time you spent chasing skirts chasing good grades and a career? We’d have cures for cancer, AIDS and global warming. You’d be vacationing on a moon in one of Saturn’s rings right now. Intelligent design my ass...

Where do we put the people who work at the enormous port and associated railroad facilities and the families of the people on the offshore rigs and all that? The city is where it is for a reason that is, unfortunately, not obsolete (unlike, say, Charleston or something).

Why, if people are willing to rebuild and suck up the losses? I mean, you aren't, but I'm kind of OK with it, and it's my money too.

I guess it makes more sense to me, given the geographic reasons for the location of the city, to rebuild NO than it would to rebuild LA if/when the big one hits. There's no good reason to have a city (especially such a big one) right exactly here, other than it's pretty and the weather is nice.

I can see rebuilding NO somewhat differently to have certain areas set aside as designed to flood, but there are good reasons to have a population center there.

Another awful decision: I go back to her "friend's apartment" and comply with her original instructions. I don't turn on any lights, I get naked, I get in bed. A slim person comes into the dark room, but there's a towel covering her face and I don't get a look at her body. She starts going down on me, it's awful and uncomfortable.

Then the horror. While I'm not paying attention to her—instead concentrating so I can climax and get the hell out—this person gets on top and inserts me into her. Unprotected. I suddenly realize I'm feeling something I've never felt before: anal sex. I was inside for maybe 30 seconds before I jumped out of the bed. "She" ran out. When I turned on the lights and looked around, it seemed clear that I was in a man's apartment. I got out of the place in a hurry and didn't look back. I should have called the police, but didn't.

It could be toxic botox poisoning, or toxic fake tan poisoning but personally, I think there wasn't much there to begin with so it wouldn't take much.
