Miles Davis in the RnR HoF? How expansive of the genre are they going to be? Will the fine banjo work of Earl Scruggs get him in the Hall, too?
The Stooges rhaahwk. Black Sabbath has been very influential on many younger bands. Davis was a pioneer in jazz-rock fusion, none of which really had much or anything to do with rock. Rock is rock. Jazz is not rock. The Stooges first album completely wrawhx.

Every riff you've heard since 1990 is derived from Black Sabbath. Their influence is miles wider than Zeppelin. Thats not because they're better than Zeppelin - its just because Sabbath had better hooks than Zeppelin. And nobody can play like Zeppelin, so nobody tried.

Paranoid through Sabbath Bloody Sabbath are simply balls out amazing records. Unfortunately, Black Sabbath is terribly uneven on every record. For every two classic songs, there's some absurd piece of art rock garbage. Master of Reality actually shakes my truck. There's never been anything heavier than that record.

Dude, the first three Stooges records are amazing. Everyobdy talks about MC5 - fuck MC5. MC5 isn't qualified to wash the Stooges' jockstraps.

Agreed, and, if you like them, try The Dead Boys (assuming you don't have their stuff yet).

Don't you have to be retired before you can get into the hall? It ain't like Cooperstown?

And no NFL game would be complete w/o Crazy Train. I've never watched a game where they didn't play it.

Over the weekend I got a french manicure and a pedicure and sprung for the paraffin dip on both. It was a little bit of heaven on earth. You should do that this weekend. Go to a spa place where they put you in a comfortable reclining ergonomic chair and give you an eye mask for the pedicure. That way, you don't have to look at your wax-enclosed foot and contemplate that it will look exactly that way if you are embalmed after death.

I plan to be cremated. In fact, I have told several friends and my wife and parents that I may not be viewed dead for purposes other than initial identification. And I do not want to waste space anywhere. There is nothing more idiotic than cemetaries.

I can't imagine anything more degrading than being seen dead in an ill fitting suit, in a fucking box. Being Catholic, somebody will surely try that gig with me.

And I will haunt any motherfucker who refers to my years as a lawyer or tells my family I "made peace with my God" after I'm gone. God, if he's there, has a lot of explaining to do for me.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nominations are out.

"Heartland rocker John Mellencamp is among the nominees for a new class of inductees at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, joined by jazz legend Miles Davis, rap pioneers Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five and Blondie....

Cat Stevens, who had folk hits in the 1970s before converting to Islam and largely retiring from music, was also nominated, along with punk rock pioneers The Patti Smith Group, the Sex Pistols and the Stooges.

"Free Bird" singers Lynyrd Skynyrd, heavy metal band Black Sabbath, the '60s beat group Dave Clark Five, Boston-area blues-rockers J. Geils Band, dance masters Chic and Texans Joe Tex, and the Sir Douglas Quintet were also on the ballot."

I say yes to Grandmaster Flash, Blondie, and the Sex Pistols.

Cat Stevens? Cat fucking Stevens?
Blondie and the Sex Pistols. Ain't no fucking way any of the others deserve a spot.

Ooooh, I gotta do that. BTW, I heard there's a Stoogish band from Australia called The Saints, but I can't find any of their shit. Ever heard any of their stuff?

It is precisely my knowledge of the impact of Black Sabbath on a whole generation of heavy-metal shit bands that informs my opinion. If the RRHOF gave a badge of shame, I would vote that the charter badge be given to Black Sabbath.

Iron Man, indeed.

The paraffin will get rid of any ashiness on your hands and feet.

I have done the same. Well, I haven't told your wife and parents, but you know what I mean.
