Sebby, what the hell is wrong with you?

COntraband will give you nothing you don't already have on their old albums, when it was fresh and new. At the risk of being dramatic and cliche, they're just caricatures of themselves now. Gimme a break, sebby.

Sure, they are caricatures of themselves. But they do provide a sound that's been missing on the radio for some time - sleazy, fat, double-bass-drum hard rock. The available hard rock on the radio is all this half-rap-metal crap or utter garbage served up by Alice in Chains soundalikes. VR is product, no doubt about it, but its a nice fat silly product, like old Van Halen. You need some old junkies in leather out there playing rock star from time to time. Its a nice mindless release, and if they can actually play, like VR can, all the better.
When old acts try to fuck with the formula, you get bombs like Metallica's last record. If there's a worse record out there in the last five years, I'd be surprised. VR at least had the sense to give the people what they want.
But you're right... I won't be putting VR in heavy rotation. It'll get through the summer and then become a drink coaster.

"Hey Ladies" might also have the greatest music video ever.
Hell, the "A Day in the Life" medley at the end of PB is one of the most ambitious things I've ever heard, and it works. Its fucked up to think that three perpetually beer drunk morons who'd just five years earlier put out punk eps and shit like "Cookie Puss"* could pop out a rap classic with the catchiest medleys since Abbey Road and Sgt. Peppers.**
* Now that - that is a motherfucking reference.
** I do not consider any of the Who's medleys applicable, as they are, for the most part, disastrous.

So what is wrong with the Cookiepuss EP, per se? I loved that cassette.

Cookie Puss was a raucous joint. Anyone who can even imagine the concept of a softserve icecream chain with oddly shaped and named cakes can appreciate its righteous message.

I would think that if you took Sequels to Charlie Trotters tonight, dined her, wined her etc et al etc. you should be able to get her to give up a tittie shot. No?
eta: I always assume Sequels is a chick and my suggestion above is based on that. nttawwt.

No. At least not right now. But I will say that I went bra shopping day before yesterday, and found I have somehow graduated a cup size, from C to D, in spite of having lost a little weight. Not quite sure how that happened.

Dear You Know Who You Are:
Thank you so much. That was the best PM ever. Very nice. And no, I don't think they need to be "a little bigger".
Coltrane
Carry on.

Tab located. Apparently fact that there were four tabs open with the same last name was lost on the waitstaff. I think it's safe to say that the person who paid for my tab, did not want to pay for my tab.

FYI, fwiw, for the record, for personal reasons wholly unrelated to PLF or The Paigow, no offence, I have decided that henceforth and in the future, for purposes of this board and otherwise, as applicable, I will go by the name The Spartan.
By way of explanation, when I first joined the internet style chatting boards back on prodigy.net in the oldskool days, I was given a screen name based upon the Seinfeld Show, a television program which was very popular back in the 50s.
Of course, like disco before it, that thang too did pass, i.e. Seinfeld ended. Of cancer. No offence.
In light of this, I want to attach myself to another name, which is in no way a negation of what the Seinfeld show was, but for me, I want to attach myself to the energy of a different name.
Before anyone starts giving me the usual shite, let me just say that I'm a little bit irritated in advance that people will think that this name change is like some celebrity band wagon ploy that I am jumping on, or that, say, somebody like SlaveNoMore (who has also changed his name multiple times) has jumped on too (fwiw, I don't even know him-but bottom line, we don't take it lightly, iykwim).
Its like, Paris Hilton. Nuff said.
Anyhoo, its been rizzle, see y'all on the flizzle sizzle.
Signing out,
Penske

Velvet revolver ain't a bad record. I had a gift cert to burn at Borders this week, so I bought a copy of Contraband. I expected to be let down, an I was pleasantly surprised. Its pretty solid big dumb rock, with some great hooks. Its worth every nickel of the $12.99.
The jury is still out on the Beasties' To the Five Boroughs. Thanksfully, its not as dense as Hello Nasty, but it also hasn't grabbed me out of the box like any of their earlier shit. I don't think those cats will ever beat Paul's Boutique.

That's like saying "I don't think Gretzky will ever score more than 92/212" or "I don't think Joe D will hit for 57 games str8." The more salient question is, will anybody?
