I sense Penske will show up soon. But how will it be proven? Because of deleted posts, we're already into the 200k range.
I'm just going by official post count. I believe this will be 199,995. It is right by the name of the newest member on the page that lists all the boards.

The genius is that you will have succeeded in indirectly making every snide comment you ever wanted to make to every asshole you work with or around, with minimal, if any, reprecussions.
That, sir, is an excellent idea. Can I write your brochures?

This reminds me. When I was a kid, I was often confused by the use of the word "dick" to mean "private detective". (I read a lot of the Nero Wolfe books -- I think that's where I saw it.)

I could probably get this into production as a sitcom/reality show, but for two problems. 1, how do you film it? 2, my friends in the film/television industry say all my proposals “tend to alienate the audience.”

It appears that you and RT posted at the same time. Since RT doesn't want to have to buy herself that vibrator, I bestow the honor of the 200,000th posts upon you, dear hank. You might want to get the details of the make and model of the vibrator from RT.

Congrats!

ETA: Based on the post numbers that come up when linking to a post, Hank got it. RT was the post after Hank's. (But I note that the official 200,000 Hank post is called post 200,950 b/c of the disappearing Politics board fiasco and any meglomaniacal deletions that may or may not have occurred.)

Its an unfortunate handle for a hardworking profession. Its really more suited to our industry.

As to the second problem, I will bow to the greater knowledge of those in the biz, but I don't understand the first objection, so long as it's a sitcom. If you were to do some background information-gathering legwork (i.e., hire yourself out -- without filming -- and see what the reactions and fallout are), you would have all the material you need.

It writes itself!

That the 200,000th post is about Taffy Danoff of the Starland Vocal Band is a travesty. Or somehow really really appropriate.

Appropriate, I think. Say if it had been a deep and introspective analysis of modern mores, I believe I would now go edit to make it dumb.

Was Taffy your secretary, and how have the looks held up? She was cute on the album cover. Actually I'm not sure which is Taffy but they're both cute.
