I could probably get this into production as a sitcom/reality show, but for two problems. 1, how do you film it? 2, my friends in the film/television industry say all my proposals “tend to alienate the audience.”

As to the second problem, I will bow to the greater knowledge of those in the biz, but I don't understand the first objection, so long as it's a sitcom. If you were to do some background information-gathering legwork (i.e., hire yourself out -- without filming -- and see what the reactions and fallout are), you would have all the material you need.
