there is some website that claims he did, but I don't buy it. sorta like that celebrity plastic surgery website where half of the entries are pure speculation based on people looking different from different angles. the Bush rumor was that he got it while in office. I say no way he was away from required photo ops long enough for that to be true.

Boring Question (TM, avert your eyes)
What OTC stuff do you people take for allergies? And have you found any that won't keep a person awake at night? I take Zyrtek every day, but occasionally still have crazy sneeze-until-you-feel-as-though-you-might-never-stop attacks that result in crazy congestion, watery eyes and headache. Needless to say that the supplemental medicine I took last night (non-drowsy Sudafed - the only thing in the house) was initially effective and then resulted in the wide-awake and jittery thing at 5:15 this morning.
Fuck me.

Contact works for me. But I think this all has to do with personal chemistry, if my wife takes it she is up all night (even the night-time version).

Sudafed daytime allergy contains pseudophedrine, a stimulant - we used to take large doses of pseudophedrine in college to pull all nighters. I found that it made me much less jittery than caffine or other alternatives. Obviously, it gives you the jitters. Pseudophedrine is a decongestant rather than an antihistimine. One of the other ingredients in Sudafed daytime is the antihistime, but I don't know off-hand what it has in it.
Chlorphedramine (Chlor-Trimeton) (generally a yellow pill) is pretty effective. To the extent it has an effect on sleep, it tends to make one drowsy, not awake (it doesn't really have an effect on me at all). Chlorphedramine is only an antihistimine, not a decongestent.
Diphenhydramine (Benedryl) (generally a pink pill) is a very effective antihistimine, and puts most people out like a light. You do not want to take this during the day unless desperate and willing to go down for a nap. Indeed, Diphenhydramine is often marketed as a sleep aid (Sominex).
Clemastine (Tavist) My mother loves this stuff; I find it does nothing for me. Again, an antihistimine. Tavist-D adds Phenylpropanolamine, a decongestant. Apparently, Phenylpropanolamine is bad. I just checked WebMD to see what else was in Tavist-D and this is what it said: - Phenylpropanolamine, an ingredient in this product, has been associated with an increased risk of hemorrhagic stroke (bleeding into the brain or into tissue surrounding the brain) in women. Men may also be at risk. Although the risk of hemorrhagic stroke is low, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommends that consumers not use any products that contain phenylpropanolamine.

Sandals, Clinton et al.
Okay, so silly me I wanted to kind of try to go see Clinton at his book signing. Baw ha ha ha ha ha. The line was around the corner and snaked three blocks down with crowd control barricades and police everywhere. Not. So much for swinging by at lunch, people have been camped out since last night. I don't have that kind of time.
So I bought cute sandals with little heels so I wouldn't trip and fall, but would look current with summer trends. Wow. Is there anything that makes sandals when you are breaking them in more comfortable? I now know why I was wearing comfortable clunky shoes for so long. Ouchie. I can't imagine the stiletto version how does one balance in those?
Last, does anyone get stalked on their morning commute if you see the same people over and over on the train or the bus or whatnot? Yesterday some fat gross guy with his pants up to his chest stopped near me and picked his wedge. I gave him a dirty look he went away for a split second, came back and sat down across from me and stared at me. This has happened to me over and over, some weird looking 80's aviator glasses wearing fat oddly dressed slob sitting across from me staring at me hovering like he wants to talk. Sitting accross from me like 7 times in a row....I finally moved. The lost and lonely like latch on to me, what is up with that? Don't I look bitchy enough or something????

I want to meet the twisted fuck who wrote the dialogue for "The Chronicles of Riddick." Good grief. You should change your avatar with the quickness.
There were so many one-liner, unintentional laugh-out-loud moments that it fucked up what actually wasn't such a bad story line.
I think if you're going to make a sequel on this level, just take the main character and leave everything else from the first. Especially when the story in the second is so big. You can't tie everything in unless you're Tarantino and you started by making just one movie and got carried away.
They spent all their money on special effects (which were pretty good) and none on fight choreography. Diesel is, well...diesel and pretty impressive, but most of the fight scenes were filmed in that up close style so that you couldn't really see what kind of moves he was using. That always sucks (except in that one scene in Gross Pointe Blanke). And he looks slow.
Anyone like this movie?

No interest in anything Vin Diesel has done or will ever do.*
Except maybe Boiler Room.
*buddy of mine who does special effects was in Prague for XXX and said that he's a complete douche bag. But I don't like him b/c he can't act.

There's some spray stuff I use that you are supposed to use on a regular basis. It's not evil spray decongestant that feels sooooo good (but then makes you even stuffier the next day); I think it's an antihistamine. If I use it on a regular basis, I can't tell that I'm slightly allergic to the cat (i.e., no fits of sneezing when it sits up by my face). I want to call it Chrom-something but not sure if that is right. I'll check tonight. It may have very bad stuff in it though; I'm not sure.
ETA it's Nasal Chrom. I think. Baltassoc can tell us if it will cause brain bleeding or whatever.

Flonase. My sister in law swears by it. I've never used it. I don't think it's OTC, but it could be now.
If it's not obvious, I have serious allergy issues. And a cat (came with the wife).

No good, huh? I was half wanting to see it because I liked the first one so much. But it seemed that aside from the main character, the elements that made the first one good were missing from this one. (Low budget, expectations thrown out of whack, isolation related terror, small group paranoia/dependance.) The trailers for this one seemed like it was trying to be a full on sci-fi extravaganza that used the full on special effects instead of the situation to magnify the story.
That said, I'll probably go see it, because I think Vin Diesel is hot.
