In the past I've seen some limited sucess with having a first group of people telling the lonely needy person just how often they seem to be communicating compared to the norm. Then, have a second group ridicule each communication the lonely needy person does still make.

Yes. Generic winter festive gathering with food. The origin is from the generic winter party which could not be a party since it is not really a celebration of any type. So it was a generic winter gathering. The additional festive was added to make it gwfgwf instead of just gwgwf - which is harder to say.
And it's origins came about because some of us are assholes and hate the people we work for.

Can a reply to PPNYC have a chance as POTY? I'm thinking they are more like Chris Farley films, perhaps funny, but lacking in the necessary gravitas for an annual award.
