Congrats Ty. You won. Let's go encourage some terrorism to celebrate.
If we do it in a growth-positive way, Spanky will join us.

Sidd's going bonkers because I answered your specific question instead of the one he apparently wanted me to answer, you get to act like you never asked me anything and I just wandered out on my own, and . . . I'm responsible for the lunacy?

The thought is that Democrats' criticism of Bush left Kim Jong Il terrified that he would need a nuclear deterrent in case John Kerry ever seized power here?
|
The thought is that Kim reads Kerry et al's arrant criticism of multi-party talks as giving him power, and, in his own inscrutable logic, thinks that detonating a nuke (or, maybe a fake nuke - not sure yet, I guess) is a cool plan. It's one of the few times I've ever actually thought "thank goodness for China."

Bilmore, tactic 1: Smear all Dems as traitors and liars. When confronted, pretend I didn't say that until someone rubs my face in it. Not once, but three times - I'm old enough to claim natural forgetfulness. Then, say that I really did say that, but when I denied it I was talking about something else that I said in response to something someone else said, and besides Democrats are all traitors and liars anyway.
Bilmore, tactic 2: Say a lot of really stupid stuff. Ideally, bring up global warming, even though no one has mentioned it in days if not weeks. When someone responds, noting that Bilmore's "global warming is really just a product of another vast, world-wide conspiracy of people who hate industry, Republicans, and God (in that order)" is... well, pretty much vintage Bilmore ... complain that their response incorporates too many concepts for Bilmore to respond.
Next up: Bilmore, tactic 3: tell us that we really are all "murder marchers" and want Saddam back in power.
eta: Needed to fix a typo. As Bilmore knows, the idea of Saddam back in power just gets me all hot and sweaty. (Though, quite honestly, I'd trade that for what we've lost in taking him out, starting with nearly 3000 young American lives.)

Bilmoor's got game. I am convinced!

C'mon, Sidd, this is stupid. I did say that some Dems have acted traitorously, not all. I never said I didn't say that. I stand by that. Ask me a specific question about it, and I'll respond. But don't pretend that my answer to Ty's specific question was meant to replace that, or even to explain that whole statement. Ty asked me a specific question, I answered it. That did not become the substitute for my statement about some Dems acting traitorously. Are you really, honestly missing this, or is this just your debate methodology?

Read Ty's question. It helps. It will sooth you.

My daughter was recently given the assignment in school of creating a new continent on an imaginary world. She diligently crafted the features -- rivers, canyons, mountains -- and the societies -- cities, farms, industries.
What does it say that war influenced her design (cities and national borders were designed to be defensible) but tax policy did not?

Since you define treason as criticizing Bush, I'll pass on asking you to elaborate.

It means that she's read enough National Review and its time for her to start reading the Weekly Standard.

I'm not sure whether you can be held responsible. If it's crack, sure. If it's something organic, maybe not.

Kim's logic may be "inscrutable," but that doesn't stop you from laying the blame on Democrats. The nice thing about this explanation is that because Kim's logic is inscrutable, you could use the same reasoning to blame Democrats who said nothing, or who stood by Bush. Well played, playa.
This merely whets my appetite to find out about the traitorous acts you ascribe to Democrats. No doubt you prefer to let the whiff of the smear linger for a while, though.

I give up. I'm fairly sure you know exactly what I was saying, in all of those posts, even thjough we'd disagree on most of it, and I'm baffled that you would take this tack of announcing to me what I mean instead of advancing some substantive point.

This reminds me of a the opening from Lewis Carroll's The Hunting of the Snark:
Quote:
"Just the place for a Snark!" the Bellman cried,
As he landed his crew with care;
Supporting each man on the top of the tide
By a finger entwined in his hair.
"Just the place for a Snark! I have said it twice:
That alone should encourage the crew.
Just the place for a Snark! I have said it thrice:
What i tell you three times is true."
|
The country has indeed been governed by a very Snarky President: "What I tell you three times is true!"
