You sure that wasn't meant as an intentional insult to the wine?

Public Service Announcement.

Jets at San Diego (-7): Pick of the Year. When will this Chargers team get some respect? Jets will have no answer for LT, no answer for Gates, no answer for Brees. And if the Jets fall behind early, which they likely will (SD has scored a huge number of first-drive touchdowns), well Chad Pennington is no Peyton Manning. Lay the 7 points, Chargers win going away....

Best bet: Tease SD and Indy 7 points and bet the house.
Fucking A.

I told you, chump.

Never Never Never Fucking NEVER lay a big bet against my Jets when they are the consensus loser AND they are a big underdog.* Guaranteed win, even if only with the spread.

[Thank god you won that money on Greed - so I don't feel so bad]

Bet on the Jets after we beat the Steelers (which we will), because then, and only then, will they get cred, be expected to win, and - as usual - go into the tank.

* Even when the worst call in football history went against them.

In case I haven't made this completely clear, you all suck.

So yesterday, I am attending a game hosted by the local NBA franchise with my family. After the game, while waiting in line to get into the team shop to peruse the ridiculously overpriced merchandise, some kid, about 16 years old, and armed with a PDA device and giveaways irresistible to young children, asks me if I would take a few moments to answer a survey about my overall NBA-watching experience. Being a good sport, and seeing as how I was pretty much a captive audience with some time to kill, I agreed. The questions included your standard fare, including how many games I attend, the amenities within the arena, what things I value in terms of entertainment, what, if anything (besides better seats) would I change, yada, yada, yada.

But then, he asked my opinion of the cheerleading/dance team squad, and whether, among other adjectives, I would use to describe them, would I agree that the squad was "classy". I cannot now hear this word, in any context, without snickering uncontrollably, thanks to reading this board. And so, snicker I did.

My spouse was somewhat less than amused.

So thanks a lot, you fuckers.

Not yet, but my oldest really wanted a jersey, so I looked. $200 for something she'll outgrow far too quickly. I don't think so.

Ba-DA! Ba-DUM! Ba-da-da-ta, da-DUM!

I was extremely right to be fascinated by the Bewitched movie, notwithstanding the criminal casting of Will Farrell as Darren Stephens while Jim Carrey still lives.

In the cast:
  • Kidman
    MacLaine (Endora)
    Caine
    Colbert
    Carell (Uncle Arthur)
    Chenowith
    Willard
    Richard Kind (Abner Kravitz)

    and

    Amy Sedaris IS Gladys Kravitz.

This could be pretty fucking funny. If they had added David Cross and Bob Odenkirk, I'd buy stock in this movie.

They made the same call for the Raiders against the Pats 30 years ago. It was worse, and it changed the result. (And you really should call it the stupidest penalty in football history, given that Barton was swinging is arm like a mace.)

Saying shit like this gives you movie credibility equal to how smart one thinks SS is after reading a half dozen of his posts. Darrin wasn't funny- he was always contained. You know this part was made for Crispin Glover. I'd say he must be out for having fucked someone the director wanted to fuck, but Nora Ephron likes girls and Crispin likes, well I don't know what, but not girls.

She's classy? Or she thought the dance squad was classy?

BTW, guys, I'm back on the market. Thank god I finally got that tool Piitt off my jock. Two words -- tiny dick.

Believe me, I am the chump of all chumps. Only I can go 3-1 picking football games and be down $700. If Kaeding hits that FG, I'm only down $300. Sheesh.

Edited to add I guess I was only 2-2 (or 2-1) since I was kinda wishwashy about the Pack/Vikes game in my post. However, by game time I was squarely in the Vikes +6 camp. And STILL I get crushed. That's it. No more gambling, I swear. I've got my Pats to win the Super Bowl bets, and that'll have to sustain me, and win or lose, THAT'S IT.
